Our Story
Farm Fest was born out of a simple yet powerful idea: to bring people together through agriculture, culture, and community. Over a decade ago, local Black farmers, riders, and community leaders recognized a need to create a space where traditions could be celebrated, families could gather, and awareness could be raised for sickle cell disease—a condition deeply affecting Maryland families, especially in Prince George’s County.
What began as a small community gathering has grown into an annual tradition that celebrates Black excellence in farming and riding while highlighting the urgent need for support and equity in healthcare. Each year, Farm Fest combines rodeo events, family-friendly activities, local vendors, and cultural pride to create an unforgettable experience.
Today, Farm Fest is more than just a festival—it’s a movement that uplifts farmers, strengthens community bonds, and raises critical funding to support Maryland’s sickle cell community.
Our Mission
Our mission is to celebrate and uplift Black farmers, riders, and the agricultural community by creating a space where culture, family, and tradition thrive. Farm Fest brings together families, community businesses, and local vendors to strengthen connections, preserve agricultural heritage, and raise critical funding for Maryland’s sickle cell community. Through fellowship, education, and celebration, we honor resilience, promote equity, and inspire the next generation of farmers and advocates.

Your donation will help us support individuals with sickle cell disease in Maryland.
